The dates for the 2026 Paris-Chartres Pentecost Pilgrimage will be May 23 – 25, 2026
The pilgrimage will begin on the morning of Saturday, May 23, the Vigil of Pentecost, and conclude the afternoon of Monday, May 25, Pentecost Monday. There will be Solemn Mass every day in the Traditional Roman Rite.
The pilgrimage will begin with Mass in Paris. The following day, the Solemnity of Pentecost (Whitsunday — May 24), Solemn Pontifical Mass will be sung in the French countryside. The concluding Mass will be celebrated in Chartres Cathedral.
The walking route covers approximately 60 miles over 3 days, beginning in Paris and ending at the Cathedral Notre-Dame de Chartres. Those who join us will have the opportunity to sing and pray in both English, French, and Latin. There will be prayer and fellowship, with over 16,000 pilgrims making the journey together with participants from many countries.
We host two chapters with REGINA Magazine, our sponsor: the Chapter of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary for adults, and the Chapter of our Lady of Mt. Carmel for families that follows an abbreviated version of the pilgrimage route.
The limit for each chapter is 50 persons.

The day after the Chartres Pilgrimage there is a week-long retreat (May 26 – June 1, 2026) for Traditional Catholics being held at the historic Fontgombault Abbey.

Also called the Pentecost Pilgrimage or the Paris-Chartres Pilgrimage, the Chartres Pilgrimage is a 3-day, 60-mile walk which takes place each year in France to commemorate the Feast of Pentecost.
The walk begins on the morning of the Vigil of Pentecost at Notre-Dame in Paris and ends at the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Chartres. Over 16,000 pilgrims participate, drawing traditional-minded pilgrims from across the globe, with about 1,800 non-French participants.
Those who participate experience centuries of history on this oft forgotten ancient facet to the Christian life in Europe: the walking pilgrimage from Paris to Chartres in order to see the “veil of Our Lady,” kept at Chartres Cathedral.
The pilgrimage is a transformative journey of faith, penance and prayer, with two nights of camping along the way.
Those who participate are organized into “chapters,” with a maximum number of 50 participants.
Our two English-speaking chapters give people the opportunity to partake in the life-altering experience of the pilgrimage.
Our family chapter of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel is for those who, due to age or health, require a shorter walk, following an abbreviated version of the pilgrim route (the family route is about two-thirds the distance of the adult route).
Join us for a taste of the ancient Medieval pilgrimage experience!
For nearly 1,000 years pilgrims have been walking this route in order to venerate one of the most sacred relics in all of Christendom, the veil of Our Lady kept at Chartres Cathedral.
For more information on this once-in-a-lifetime experience where you are sure to grow in your faith, see here for an article written by one of our past participants.
Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to live and experience the Catholic Faith in France – the “Eldest Daughter of the Church” – while meeting new people and making life-long friends.
The year, 2026, will be the 44th year of the pilgrimage since its modern revival by Traditional French Catholics in the 1980s. Today the pilgrimage is organized by the L’association Notre-Dame de Chrétienté (the Association of Our Lady of Christendom), a lay group of French Catholics dedicated to keeping this noble tradition alive.
We sincerely hope you will join us — to avoid disappointment, register with us early!
